
MITRE Names Richard Clark to Board of Trustees
McLean, Va., February 28, 2025—MITRE’s Board of Trustees elected Richard Clark, a global finance and transformation executive formerly with Accenture, to serve as a member.
“Richard's ability to integrate financial insight with technology and strategic planning will greatly benefit MITRE as we continue to advance solutions for the nation’s toughest challenges,” said Mark Peters, MITRE president and CEO. “His deep understanding of governance, finance, and digital systems will be instrumental in helping MITRE enhance efficiencies for our federal sponsors and broaden our innovative technology solutions for the public interest.”
With a life-long commitment to governance that blends resilience with innovation, Clark retired in 2023 as chief transformation officer of Accenture, where he led global change initiatives across the company’s full infrastructure. During his 39-year career at Accenture, Clark spearheaded numerous transformational programs that streamlined global processes, optimized operations, and integrated cutting-edge technologies, delivering significant strategic and financial impacts.

Clark was Accenture’s chief accounting officer for 20 years, with responsibility for ensuring reporting accuracy and compliance. He has extensive financial and operations experience. He was Accenture's corporate controller for a decade and the senior managing director of investor relations, maintaining Accenture’s relationships with shareholders and the broader investment community.
He also served on the Board of Managers for Accenture Federal Services (AFS), where he oversaw risk management and governance practices. He chaired the Audit Committee and was a member of the Compensation Committee at AFS. His leadership was pivotal in ensuring operational excellence and compliance in a complex, high-security environment.
Clark’s career achievements reflect his commitment to advancing enterprise efficiency and innovation through data-driven decision making and governance excellence.
He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master of Science in accounting from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a Bachelor of Arts in public administration from Stonehill College.
