Rebecca Filipowicz

Public Health Principal

Rebecca Filipowicz is an experienced and accomplished public health leader with over 24 years of direct public health practice, dedicated to improving health outcomes. Currently, she serves as a Public Health Principal at MITRE, where she has been employed for over four years. Rebecca is the Project Leader for the Advancing the CDC Readiness and Response Capabilities project and previously led the Public Health FHIR Implementation Collaborative. She also recently spearheaded an internal strategic initiative to assess the use of AI for qualitative analysis. Before joining MITRE, Rebecca supported and directed major programs, projects, and initiatives as an Associate Director at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and as the TB, HIV, and STD Surveillance and Epidemiology Branch Manager at the Texas Department of State Health Services. She holds an MPH in Behavioral Sciences and Health Education from Emory University, an MS in Exercise Physiology from the University of North Texas, and a DrPH in Public Health Advanced Practice Leadership from the University of South Florida. Additionally, she is a certified Master Certified Health Education Specialist.
