Jay Crossler

Jay Crossler’s career is rooted in combining information technology and scientific research in support of national security. He takes on big problems, providing technical strategy, vision, and direction to his teams while creating new lines of research or delivering world-class technical inventions and mission capabilities. For example, his teams have developed life-saving enterprise and military large-scale systems that are now in operational use.

He focuses on artificial intelligence, 3D printing, cloud engineering, DevOps, data analytics, and geospatial technologies. One of his missions is to bring together researchers who have technical expertise and employees working directly with government agencies who have domain expertise to meet the needs of our sponsors and other critical stakeholders.

Crossler has 20 years of experience working on complex IT topics at MITRE, in industry, and while serving in the U.S. Air Force. His achievements include serving as chief information officer and chief engineer on the VA Choice Act assessment team of 350 analysts and statisticians. In support of the COVID-19 Healthcare Coalition, Crossler served as data analytics lead. He also served as technical lead or advisor on 11 high-visibility red team reports for the DoD. During his military service, Crossler designed, built, deployed, and operated the portal that Gen. Stanley McChrystal used to manage the invasion of Afghanistan.
