Adalio T. Sanchez is president of S Group Advisory, a management consulting firm, and an industry leader in the IT enterprise hardware, software, and semiconductor markets.
He is a 32-year veteran of the IBM Corporation, where he held various senior executive and global general management roles.
Sanchez rose from technical staff to global leadership, developing expertise in strategy, R&D, supply chain operations, and mergers and acquisitions. He was instrumental in creating IBM’s early personal computers and, as head of the IBM ThinkPad business, spearheaded the formation of the Bluetooth industry consortium that made the technology ubiquitous. Sanchez also led the transformation and growth of global IBM divisions in the systems, storage, and semiconductors spaces and oversaw the creation of several of the world’s most powerful supercomputer systems. After IBM, he was senior vice president of Lenovo Group Ltd.
Sanchez was the 2007 U.S. Hispanic Engineer of the Year and has frequently been named to the Top 50 Hispanics in Technology and Business list. In 2023, he was inducted into the National Academy of Engineering. In addition to the MITRE Board of Trustees, he is Chairman of the Board of ACI Worldwide Inc., a global software company facilitating real-time electronics payments. Sanchez also sits on the boards of Avnet Inc., a global electronic components and technology solutions sales and distribution company; ASM International, a leading-edge semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment company based in the Netherlands; and Snap One Holdings, which produces home automation systems and solutions.
He also chairs the Florida International University (FIU) Foundation.
Sanchez holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Miami and an MBA from FIU.
