Health Systems Administration & Operations uses clinical, ambulatory, and hospital-based operational expertise to consider the entire socio-technical system to improve clinical outcomes, resource management, patient care, and the delivery of cost effective, high-quality healthcare.

Health & Clinical Informatics connects people and data to change the health market and reinvent the health experience based on the belief that data is the next medical innovation in health.

Health Systems Prototyping & IT designs and develops techniques to rapidly prototype open-source software that demonstrates unique solutions at a national scale and validates those solutions in test beds and clinical settings.

The Health Standards & Interoperability competency develops interoperable healthcare and patient-centric systems through standards application, systems architecture, conformance testing, and standards development.

Health Communication develops targeted messaging to ensure increased understanding of health-related issues and their potential risk to an individual, community, or population.

Improving patient outcomes and population health requires consideration of disease life cycle, social determinants of health, health policy, disease prevention, health promotion, education and more.
