HAIPE peer discovery using BGP

Patented

A system, method, and computer program product are provided for performing peer discovery of HAIPE devices. A local enclave network fronted by a HAIPE device is addressed from the perspective of a "black" network using a "black" address associated with the HAIPE device. In order to properly address a network device within the local enclave, the "black" address associated with the fronting HAIPE device is determined. This is fa cilitated by mapping the address of the network device to the address of the HAIPE device, and propagating this mapping using the BGP routing protocol.
