The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) manages U.S. airspace to promote safe and efficient operations. The FAA is presently revamping its infrastructure to accommodate new air traffic control (ATC) services and to reduce risks associated with cyber threats. A description of the cyber security architecture, being deployed, is provided. The transition from a safety culture to a cyber security and safety culture is a part of this deployment. This transition is considered essential to the success of the architecture and it is also described.
