Greater collaboration between the DoD and commercial industry can accelerate innovation, reduce acquisition timelines, and enhance warfighter lethality. By fostering shared understanding of mission gaps, enabling access to tools and data, and leveraging collaborative digital environments, Mission Engineering empowers industry to proactively align capabilities with DoD priorities.

Key strategies include engaging industry partners early on to expose them to mission needs, collaboratively exploring integration of capabilities into mission architectures, and ensuring continued engagement through prototyping and experimentation. These efforts lower barriers for commercial and dual-use technology adoption, improve integration, and refine mission architectures in response to evolving threats, driving faster, more effective solutions to meet national security challenges.
