MITRE Licenses Remote Health Screening Platform to Signum Technologies

McLean, Va., & Bedford, Mass., Jan. 8, 2025 – MITRE has licensed a novel remote vital signs screening technology to Signum Technologies, to be commercialized and deployed. Signum, a health and health security computer vision company, has a long history with the technology and its development.

ROSIE (Remote Optical Screening in Entryways) is a hands-free software and sensor platform that uses traditional and thermal cameras with proprietary algorithms to measure vital signs like temperature, respiratory rate, and heart rate. It can be deployed in offices for automatic data collection or used remotely for telehealth providers.

Initially created as an independent research and development project to remotely screen for potential COVID-19 symptoms, ROSIE has been adapted and developed to enhance telehealth services and reduce workforce burden in healthcare facilities by automatically collecting vital signs.
