Twice a year, federal agencies receive a Federal IT Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA) scorecard from Congress on how well they managed their IT activities. Now a team under the IT trade group ACT-IAC is recommending how to revise the FITARA scorecard. In our role as a trusted adviser operating in the public interest, MITRE is working with that team. Speaking with Federal News Network, Dave Powner, executive director of MITRE’s Center for Data-Driven Policy, said: "I don’t think the actual grade or scores matter. Instead, are we getting progress in terms of outcomes? If you look at data center consolidation, we saved billions."
