Paul G. Kaminski, a retired U.S. Air Force colonel who has served on the MITRE Board of Trustees since 2017, was elected into the National Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) on Nov. 13.
Since its founding nearly six decades ago, only 246 individuals have been inducted into the NAHF. Kaminski is part of the NAHF "Class of 2020," a group of five men and women who have made enduring contributions to the advancement of flight and manned exploration of space.
Kaminski is being honored for his leadership of a variety of technical aerospace programs, including the F-117 and B-2 programs, as well as his contributions to the development of stealth aircraft and guided munitions.
Kaminski, who holds a doctorate in aeronautics and astronautics, is widely recognized as a pioneer of national reconnaissance and stealth technology. He has received numerous awards during his career. These include the National Medal of Technology 2006, the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service, the Ronald Reagan Award for Missile Defense, the Air Force Systems Command Scientific Achievement Award, and the International Strategic Studies Association Possony Medal for Outstanding Contributions to Strategic Progress through Science and Technology.
Kaminski will be formally inducted into the NAHF in September 2020.
