MITRE has been named one of the 2019 Best Workplaces for Commuters in the country for offering employees exceptional commuter benefits that meet the National Standard of Excellence criteria.
The company is among a select group of workplaces in the United States that have committed to employee-provided commuter benefits that result in at least 14 percent of their employee base not driving alone to work within a 12-month period. MITRE offers employees several commuter benefit options, including a transit subsidy, telework and compressed work weeks, and an employee shuttle. We also have employee transportation coordinators, belong to a transportation management association, and enable workers to deduct transit fares from pretax income.
Best Workplaces for Commuters recognizes and assists workplaces that provide exceptional commuter benefits to employees. The Best Workplaces for Commuters program is managed by the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) at the University of South Florida with support from the Florida Department of Transportation.
