MITRE Honored with Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Award

MITRE has been selected as a Pro-Patria Award Recipient from the Massachusetts Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve committee for the company’s policies that make it possible for employees to fulfil their National Guard and Reserve duties. The award is the highest honor a state committee can award to an employer.

"All told, MITRE has supported well over 4 years of my being absent due to military requirements.  In every instance I never had to worry about returning to MITRE," said Scott Canavan, a MITRE employee and a Chief Warrant Officer 3 Targeting Officer, in his nomination of MITRE. "During any/every long-term military commitment, someone from MITRE maintained contact with me, checking up on my well-being, and coordinating my return, ensuring that I had a project and work to return to, long before my military commitment ended. MITRE has been instrumental in my reintegration after every deployment."

MITRE provides 13 weeks of paid military leave for a Presidential Call-up of Reservist to Support the War on Terror and guarantees a job upon return from deployment. Nearly a quarter of MITRE employees are veterans. This is the fourth time MITRE has been recognized by ESGR.
