FCW named MITRE Vice President of Air & Space Forces Kerry Buckley, Ph.D., a 2022 Federal 100 award winner for her leadership in building a foundation for public and private cooperation in the space domain. Buckley and her team at MITRE created a technical roadmap to integrate a surface-to-space architecture to ensure the safety of increasingly crowded airspace and a simulation environment that government and industry stakeholders use to model cross-agency and cross-sector operational collaboration. The Federal 100 awards recognize leaders from private industry, academia, and government who show how government can better leverage technology to serve its citizens. As a convener of federal, private, and academic stakeholders in the space domain, MITRE is supporting U.S. leadership as the trillion-dollar space economy rapidly grows, so that government can best support the scientific and business ventures of its citizens while advancing America’s national security.
