HIMSS, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, has named Jaya Tripathi a Most Influential Women in Health IT award winner in 2022. These awards celebrate individuals who “harness the power of information and technology to transform health and healthcare.”
Tripathi is a principal scientist in the Data Science Department within MITRE Labs. She has been the principal investigator and subject matter expert on several research and sponsor projects, applying her data analytics knowledge and creativity to architect solutions to tackle complex, critical problems in the healthcare domain. She is the inventor of two actionable tools: a decision-making tool piloted at a hospital in Boston and a tool for fraud investigations that was transferred to a government agency.
Tripathi is frequently invited as a subject matter expert on analytics to address the opioid epidemic on panels at national venues and conferences such as Centers for Disease Control Annual Grantees meeting, the Pew Charitable Trusts, the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy, Mathematica Policy Research Institute, and the Veterans Health Innovation Exchange. HIMSS honored the award winners at a ceremony in Orlando at the annual conference on March 16.
