MITRE's Technology Transfer Office (TTO) was established in 1999 to support technology transfer activities and to develop and administer intellectual property management policies and procedures. The technology transfer process makes our technology affordable, supportable, and available to our government sponsors, academia, and industry. It also helps MITRE attract and retain top-notch technical talent.

As part of MITRE's mission, the TTO actively makes many MITRE-developed technologies available for transfer to commercial companies, academia, and the public at large.

Technology transfer covers a range of activities, including licenses to commercial companies, transitions to sponsors, and other types of agreements.

The goals of MITRE's TTO are to:

• Ensure impact of MITRE's technologies
• Enhance the image of MITRE and its staff
• Generate revenue for our public interest mission.
